Car Club of the Month - Glossop Vehicle Enthusiasts Club

GVEC, your local car club. You don’t have to have a vehicle to join. GVEC was formed by a group of local enthusiasts, who had an interest in vehicles of all ages and types, from motor bikes to vintages cars/ commercial transport. We welcome all types of vehicles of all ages.

The ethos of the club is to get like mined people together, for social events and outings. A lot of people have misconstrued ideas of car clubs; they think they have to buy a classic / vintage vehicle.

That is not the case at GVEC we accept all types, makes and age of vehicles. You don’t even have to own a car to join.

For as little as £20 per person or £25 per couple a year, you can become a member of one of the most progressive car clubs in the north. In 2019 GVEC came in the top 10 car clubs in the UK. GVEC organise 2 Classic car shows in Manor Park each year. We have, Weekends away, Evening dinner drives, Luncheon drives, and Party drives, such as Halloween, Santa drives, Remembrance drives, Fancy dress drives. We also have annual drives to different parts of Europe. You can join in as many drives and events as you like. On most events we collect and donate money to local charities in and around Glossop.

We hold at least one event per month in the winter and from March to October we hold around 20+ different events and attend third party car shows. We have approximately, three members meetings per year, plus an annual BBQ and a Fish & Chip Drive. These are not compulsory to attend, but when we hold our meetings, we also make them a

social evening and get together. The age group spans across all generations, we encourage younger members to join us and we do have some drives out and events to suit the younger members.
